Morph

MP4 to MP3: get the audio out of a video

Lectures, songs, voice notes recorded as video: Morph saves just the sound, so the file is a fraction of the size.

How to do it

  1. Open the video in Morph

MP4, MOV and most videos your device can play work.

  2. Choose an audio format

The Convert wheel shows the audio formats your device supports next to the video ones.

  3. Play it anywhere

The audio file is saved next to the video.

Where it works

Free and open source. Everything runs on your device: no uploads, no account, no ads, and your originals are never changed.

Questions

Why M4A instead of MP3 on some devices?

MP3 encoding isn't built into macOS, iOS or Android. M4A (AAC) is built in, sounds as good or better at the same size, and plays on practically everything.

Can I convert MP3 to M4A or WAV too?

Yes. Audio files convert between the same formats.

Is the video uploaded?

No. Morph converts on your device and makes no network requests.
