Morph

Get the text out of a PDF

Morph saves every word of a PDF as a plain text file you can search, copy or paste anywhere. For scanned PDFs, Extract Text reads the words from the page images.

How to do it

  1. Open the files in Morph

On a Mac or Windows PC, start dragging them and tap Shift. On iPhone or Android, share them to Morph or pick them in the app.

  2. Choose Text

Or Extract Text on the Tools wheel for a scanned PDF.

  3. Copy what you need

The text file is saved next to the PDF.

Where it works

Free and open source. Everything runs on your device: no uploads, no account, no ads, and your originals are never changed.

Questions

Does it work on scans?

Yes, with Extract Text, which uses the text recognition built into your device. It runs offline.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Morph converts on your own device and makes no network requests, so nothing leaves it.
